Welcome!

Congratulations on taking your first step toward a future in IT! In this course, we’ll start by building your knowledge with foundational concepts and key terms. As you progress in your career, you’ll continue to build on this technical foundation.

This course is designed to be as streamlined as possible. While we try to provide ample context, some answers to potential "why" questions might be left out for the sake of brevity. You’ll be learning a lot of new information, so the course focuses on the essentials to avoid overwhelming you. However, asking “why” is an excellent way to deepen your understanding and will be an invaluable tool as you move forward. We encourage you to explore the “why” and find the answers independently.

Study Aids

In IT, having a good memory is extremely helpful. Often, you’ll need to memorize random bits of information after only being exposed to them a few times. This course provides a great opportunity to practice and strengthen that “memory muscle,” as you'll encounter plenty of acronyms, numbers, and other details to memorize.

Flashcards and assessments are excellent tools for this. They not only help you build your “recall muscle,” but also enable you to memorize information more quickly. The more time you spend studying, the better you’ll become at retaining information. And the more information you have memorized, the easier it will be to solve problems and apply that knowledge in the real world. Over time, you’ll find that it becomes easier and easier to learn new information or recall information you’ve previously learned.

Conclusion

We’re so excited to guide and assist you on your journey to becoming more technically educated and starting your IT career. It’s going to be challenging, but if you put in the work, you will be successful. Congratulations on taking the first step, and good luck!
